I own a 1995 dodge intrepid. It overheated about a week ago. We filled it with coolant and it continued to overheat. We came to the conclusion that the thermostat was bad by testing it on the stove. We removed it and the car ran fine. We replaced it with a new thermostat yesterday and drove it and it continued to overheat. We removed the thermostat and continued leaking out the overflow. All we did was replace the thermostat, did we miss something or could something else be wrong??

if you took out the thermostat and it still overheats then you have a clogged radiator or the water pump is weak or not pumping at all make sure your car is not smoking white smoke if it is it's your head gasket and that should solve the problem
