I collect knives and have had a few sharpeners. I like to keep my knives as sharp as i can. What would be the best sharpener to do this? I have both serrated and straight edge blades. Most of my blades cost from $30-$150 so i don't want a cheep sharpener that would destroy the blade.
Mine is dull, and it really angered me because it's green and it worked very well. Please tell me anything you have done to do what I want to do.

I stuck my tip finger in for like half a second to see what would happen and my nail came out cracked and my finger is all torn up. The shred case is filled with skin and blood. What should I do to save my sharpener!? A think a nail was jammed into the blade and my pencils won't sharpen as well...
