I have a 110G reef tank with a 30 gallon wet/dry system and in line filtration + UV light and 125 Gallon Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer. it has been almost 2 years since set up and i had no problems but lately i have tested for 160-200 mg/L nitrates... i ended up doing 30%...
So I have a 75 gallon reef tank. It has live rock, corals and fish. It has been up and running for over a year. Every few months I will get algae that grows like a mat over my sand (dark brown to red). I have a sand sifting starfish and pink spotted watchman goby that keep half of the sand free...
