It is a rushing wind sound, not like a clanging or ringing. It also gets much louder when it is about to shut off as it has reached the desired temp. This is for the A/C. My husband covers the vent with a pillow at night but it gets too hot even with the other vent uncovered. Is there a solution?

it is not the exhaust noise but there is something shaking which i guess is the roof and i've read online in a few forums it is normal.
