hibernate

I am downloading a large torrent file. If i put my PC on hibernate or sleep mode, will the file continue to download?

I use a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista on it. For some reason, when I try to put the laptop into hibernation mode (this happens with all methods), the screen will go black and it won't turn back on and I have to do a cold reset. If I try to shut it down, it'll stay on the "shut down" screen...

i know all about how to activate hibernation and how to disactivate it.....i disabled and enabled it again but cannot hibernate

When i booted up my laptop a while ago all of the bars at the top of the programs had changed their look. I recently asked another question about it and the guy suggested it was that my theme had been changed from Windows Vista Aero, i checked and it had been changed from Aero to the Basic...
