I want to know whether to get a four wheeler or a dirt bike, and I cant decide can you help me?

I have the 2008 honda 420 rancher 4x4. I ride over ALOT of rough rocky places and my rims are getting dented up really bad. I've bent them back out with a hammer and adjustable wrench a few times, but is there any thing I can buy or do to prevent it from happening?
