I understand that a brush-less DC motor must have a controller which generates AC current to drive the unit. My question is; if i bypass the controller and connect the motor directly to a bridge rectifier, will I generate power at a reasonable efficiency.

A brushless motor has 3 wires coming out of it, but a battery has only 2 wires coming out of it. How can I run the motor using the battery (obviously I can't just connect the wires together...)?

Ok, I can either buy the sidewinder or the vxl, which one would be better on a Pro Match 7 cell Ener-g? Which one would provide faster speeds? Also if it's the Sidewinder which one should I get the 4600, or 5700. Sorry for all of the question, im a newb to brushless.
