don't eat right before your workout (cus you'll get cramps)
keep water at hand
jog for as long as you can and take a 30 second water break when you've reached your limit
keep doing this and you'll be able to keep jogging for maybe 15-30 minutes and increase the speed as it becomes easier

Not bad,but I would try to make him less "normal",you know what I mean?Give him more character.He doesnt have to be necessarly good.He could be cynical,hot headed,mean(with a soft side he is embarassed to show anyone),weird creepy kid who plays with dead animals(you wanted "dark humor" didnt you...
