The W580i is a horrible phone. The keys crack on it if you text on it a lot. The phone can shut off and not turn back. It is a poor quality phone. I would not recommend it. Get the Samsung A737 instead. It is far better then the W580i device. My friend has one and loves it.
The best thing you can do is get an International plan for the phone. Verizon does not unlock their phones. So get an International plan from Verizon and make sure it is compatible in that country.

You can get Motorola Phone Tools software plus a USB Cord and add music to your phone that way. You would just add music to the software and sync your phone. Then all should transfer to your phone.

When going through the steps, you will sign up for the plan you want or you can select "keep the same plan you have now". You can get unlimited texting still.
