He sounds more like the creeper type than you think... But, if you have to meet him, meet him with a few friends. It may be fine and dandy right now but you can never be too safe. Make sure you meet in public, too.
And if you do meet him, just go hug him and go get something to eat, talk, etc.
I know it's mainly Jehovah Witnesses that come to people's doors w/ the pamphlets or whatnot... but it seems as though I've had every other religion as well. I even had a Christian man come to my door on Christmas. My mom was a bit mad that they came to us on Christmas and she IS Christian.
