Take a look at heated suits not cheap but they sure as heck work wonders, cud be the way forward so down your local bike shop and see whats on offer. If you have a limited output alternator to keep the battery charged and still ride ok you could maybe get a way with a ''teddy bear suit'' one...

For your own purpose of knowing what you've done to the bike a record is best kept and costs recorded, so then you know your costs and if you come to sell it, the records are there for the punter to see. Been doing this for the last 50 years on all the bikes I've had.
