If you find it happening often then keep a diary about what was going on and try to note what time you woke up if your sleep was disturbed during the night.
Being pulled in for a sleep study is great but there's always the chance of nothing happening so a diary will help a great deal.
My point is that hysterical overreactions will cause more harm than good - and that covers most of what governments are proposing (either that, or a failure to address the situation at all. The consequences of different mitigation strategies need to be considered and weighed up.
