No such thing as unwriteable cd's with no data on them. Makes no sense. Your writer is broken or not installed correctly, you have no writer or the software isn't working correctly. One of the three.

I like a two drive cd-rw/dvd-rw setup that way the discs burn faster. Even though you only need one drive to read/write cd's and dvd's.

No need for a gadget for shortcuts on the bottom. Just right click the taskbar (bottom bar) by the start button and choose toolbars, Quick Launch. Now all you have to do is drag and drop shortcuts to folders and websites and whatever else you want to the quick launch bar. Favorite and bookmark...

Buy a quaility splitter and split the line at the most convenient point then run a line from there over to your caravan. The wireless idea isn't a good one as the signal loss is too much.

I doubt it and their Vista compatible scanners page doesn't have the driver either. Scanners are cheap enough nowadays, i'd just go buy a new one that is Vista compatible.
