Depends on altitude, whether or not you are under water, other sounds such as wind or rain. Are you in space? a canyon? many variables. but, on a flat, quiet area I would say about 1/2 mile max for a normal person. A person whistling may make it a mile.

cut off. can this be adjusted? I have gone through the picture seetings but even on WS setting I miss about 2 letters of print on each side on channels like CNN HD and ESPN News HD etc. Can it be adjusted by a repairman? or can I adjust it? or am I out of luck?
