My advice would be to read and understand the contract BEFORE you sign it. It's unfortunate, but there are some people who answer on Y!A who don't necessarily have your best interests at heart, or who give answers when in fact they don't really know what the answer is.
Many people thought television would put movie theaters out of business. Many, many people want the cinematic experience, so I look for theaters to be around for a long time to come.
Legal downloading/streaming of movies will hurt the physical disk market, and may eventually put it to an end...
